THE PRACTICE

circles_biege.png

Our practice is a process — not a finished, solid thing. It's an ongoing, moment-to-moment intention to be present, to pay attention, and through that attention, to learn about ourselves.

It starts with the body: something tangible, something we can explore and sense directly. Learning how to move, how to sense the body, how to take care of it, heal it, rehab it, improve it — how to move faster, how to be stronger — this is all part of the learning process.

But the body is only the entry point. Through it, we access other parts of ourselves — our emotional and mental realms, which are tied together with the physical. Eventually, we work with ourselves as a whole: body, mind, and emotion interlaced, intertwined, affecting one another.

This journey of discovery unfolds through experiments — drills, games, partner work, physical tasks, and exercises — that, little by little, help us discover and put together the puzzle that we are: ourselves, and that labyrinth.

Always with the intention of being present and aware, and open to discovering more — living with an open question, never reaching an end.

THE TEACHER

Andres Vesga's movement journey began as a kid, driven by curiosity — first through martial arts, then a few years studying dance. He also competed in aerobic gymnastics, performed as a dancer, and competed internationally in aerobic gymnastics. Looking back, this was never curiosity about one discipline alone, but a broader curiosity about movement itself — even before he had a name for it.

Alongside this, he built a career as a fitness trainer starting at age fifteen. This eventually took him around the world — presenting, training, and traveling extensively through Asia after moving to Hong Kong with his wife in 2009 to work with a major gym chain.

Then, in 2012, he met his teacher, Ido Portal. That meeting brought a paradigm shift — he realized that the curiosity he'd carried all along wasn't scattered across many disciplines. It was, all along, a curiosity about movement itself.

Since that first meeting, he has been Ido's student for around fifteen years — meeting him in person every year, and remaining a constant, ongoing student online. That path led him to start teaching movement himself in 2015. He spent the following years in Hong Kong building a movement community there.

Through these fifteen years of practice and study, Andres has experienced his own journey as a transformation — not only physically, in how he understands his body, the quality of his movement, his awareness, and his physical skills, but also mentally and emotionally. This transformation has extended into his personal life, shaping how he sees and lives it, and helping him grow as a husband and as a father.

Now, in 2026, he has moved with his wife and daughter to Berlin to start a new movement community here — continuing this journey and sharing it with anyone who wants to jump on board.

THE STUDENT

There are no prerequisites to being a student in this school — no age requirement, no gender requirement, no level required. All that's needed is an open mind and a willingness to try, to experiment, and to explore what's offered.

Whatever the student is looking for, there's a possibility to work toward it — whether that's rehabbing an injury or pre-existing condition, improving posture, building specific capabilities, developing strength or coordination, or achieving particular skills. We're there to provide for that.

But one thing is certain: the possibilities of finding more are always there. The practice can go far deeper than expected, and along the way, it opens the door to discoveries the student never thought possible at the start. That's what the practice is ultimately for — a long journey of discoveries.

As long as the student is willing to try, to stay, to pay attention, and to remain open to what comes next, there is always more to receive from it.
